The International Cricket Council (ICC) had given Bangladesh 24 hours to make a final decision regarding participation in the T20 World Cup in India. In this context, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Nazrul held meeting with Bangladesh’s cricketers on Thursday afternoon.
The much-anticipated meeting began at 3:00 pm. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam Bulbul was present in the meeting.
Speaking after the meeting, Asif Nazrul said Bangladesh will not travel to India to play in the World Cup.
He, however, expressed hope that the ICC would reconsider the matter with due prudence.
On January 4, BCB, heeding the government's advice, informed the ICC that it would not be sending the national team to India for the T20 World Cup citing security reasons.
