Pakistan have reportedly paused all preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 amid uncertainty over Bangladesh’s participation.
The Daily Sun reported this update, citing a reports published by Pakistani media outlet Geo News.
Sources told the media that the Pakistan Cricket Board has put team planning on hold and asked officials to prepare contingency measures if Pakistan decide not to take part in the tournament, scheduled from 7 February to 8 March in India and Sri Lanka.
Pakistan have thrown full support behind Bangladesh, terming their security concerns over travelling to India as “reasonable and valid”.
Officials indicated that Pakistan may reconsider their own participation if the matter remains unresolved.
The PCB has also conveyed readiness to host Bangladesh’s matches if Sri Lankan venues are unavailable, citing Pakistan’s recent success in staging major ICC events.
