The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) resumed on Friday after a 24-hour boycott by players briefly disrupted the tournament, allowing matches to restart as scheduled, reports UNB.
Cricketers had refused to take the field on Thursday, bringing play to a halt and raising uncertainty over the continuation of the league. Following discussions between players’ representatives and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), an understanding was reached to resume the competition.
The Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) said the decision to return to play was taken in the greater interest of the tournament and the game, while noting that outstanding issues would be addressed at a later stage.
With the boycott lifted, teams returned to action on Friday, shifting the immediate focus back to cricket as the BPL continues its schedule.
