Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director Asif Akbar has said that the board has not yet received any letter from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding a possible venue change amid security concerns for the Bangladesh national cricket team in India.
Speaking to the media on Monday after the Sylhet phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Asif said he had just asked the BCB president whether there was any such development.
“We have no such news. We have not received any letter from the ICC on this matter so far,” he said.
Responding to claims made by Indian media regarding the venue, the BCB director said, “Indian media can report what they want. You should publish proper news. We will definitely inform you once we hear officially from the ICC.”
Asif reiterated that so far no information has been shared that was not cleared by the board, adding that the BCB is still waiting for an official letter from the ICC.
