BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul said the ICC will hold a meeting with them soon after the decision not to go to India to play the World Cup. The BCB will express Bangladesh's position in this meeting.
On Monday evening, BCB President Aminul Islam Bulbul and some directors were present at the BNP office in Gulshan to express their condolences over the death of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He spoke to the media there on this issue.
In a letter sent by the BCB to the ICC, it was said that the Bangladesh team is not ready to play in India at the moment due to security and players' dignity issues. Bulbul said, “Security is a big issue for us. Besides, the process of excluding Mustafiz from the IPL has also deeply shocked us.”
The ICC has not yet given any official response, but the BCB president hopes for a quick discussion. He said, “If the ICC calls us for a meeting, we will present our statement. The next step will depend on that.”
Meanwhile, the Indian team was supposed to visit Bangladesh in August for a bilateral series. However, due to the current situation, the series has also been postponed. Bulbul said, “Playing a series between two countries or in the World Cup is a different matter, the security issue of the World Cup is a different matter. For now, our focus is on the World Cup.”
In addition, it has been decided not to broadcast IPL games and events in Bangladesh on the instructions of the Ministry of Information. The BCB has supported this decision.
