The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revoked the No Objection Certificate (NOC) earlier granted to national team pacer Mustafizur Rahman to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL), citing security concerns.
In an official decision, the BCB said the NOC has been withdrawn with immediate effect, meaning Mustafizur will not be allowed to travel to India for the IPL under any circumstances.
The board also confirmed that Mustafizur has been informed of the decision.
Sources said the revocation will remain in force even if IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) revises or changes its stance regarding Mustafizur’s participation.
The BCB has made it clear that the decision is final and has been taken purely on security grounds.
The development comes amid growing concerns over player safety, prompting the board to prioritise the well-being of its cricketers. The BCB is expected to formally communicate the decision through a press release, outlining the reasons behind revoking the NOC.
Meanwhile, the BCB decided not to send their team in India to play in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup for security reason.
