Rangpur Riders made an impressive start to their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) campaign, defeating Chattogram Royals by seven wickets in their opening match on Monday.
After losing the toss, Chattogram Royals were bowled out for just 102 runs at the Sylhet International Stadium.
Opener Naim Sheikh top-scored with 39 off 20 balls, but none of the other batters could build a substantial innings.
Rangpur’s Pakistani pacer Faheem Ashraf led the bowling attack, claiming five wickets for 17 runs.
In the second innings, Rangpur openers Litton Das and Dawid Malan put on a strong opening partnership to steer the team close to victory.
Litton scored 47 runs off 31 balls, while Malan added 51 before getting out.
Led by wicket-keeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rangpur Riders reached the target comfortably, scoring 103 for three in just 15 overs.
