Bangladesh left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam was taken to hospital on Sunday after suffering a head knock during a training session with his Bangladesh Premier League side, Chattogram Royals.
Shoriful collided with a teammate while practicing and complained of pain on one side of his head. He has also been suffering from a cold in recent days.
With Chattogram scheduled to play a match on Monday, team management said they decided not to take any risks and sent the fast bowler to hospital for precautionary tests under concussion protocols.
“It does not look very serious, but because it is a head injury we want to be sure,” a member of the team management told the media. “Once the test results come in, we will know more.”
