Former Bangladesh captain Khaled Mahmud Sujon has played down his dramatic walkout from Noakhali Express’s training session, calling the episode “just a misunderstanding” ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League, reports the Daily Sun.
Sujon left the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, initially saying he would not continue in the BPL after becoming frustrated with training arrangements and equipment shortages.
“It’s just a misunderstanding. It maybe happened in the heat of the moment,” Sujon said. “But tanks to the team owners — they have spoken to me, and BCB has also spoken to me.”
The experienced coach explained that the issue stemmed from the lack of training facilities and equipment at the time. “I actually got a bit angry then. So maybe there was some misbehaviour with me,” he said.
Sujon confirmed that Noakhali Express owners Tawhid and Adnan later contacted him to resolve the matter. “So it’s just a misunderstanding, nothing else,” he added.
Expressing confidence in the franchise, Sujon said: “I am very happy with my franchise… honestly, I am very happy that they are keeping their promises and commitments.”
He praised the young ownership group’s passion for cricket and hoped they would maintain their support throughout the tournament, stressing the importance of unity and team bonding as the BPL gathers momentum.
