Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed former national captain Habibul Bashar as mentor, Mizanur Rahman Babul as head coach and Nafees Iqbal as team manager of the Chattogram Royals after agreeing to take over the franchise’s operations for the remainder of the Bangladesh Premier League season.
The appointments follow franchise owner Kayum Rashed’s request to the BCB to assume control of the team, citing difficulties in continuing to run the side under the prevailing circumstances.
BCB officials said the move was aimed at stabilising the franchise and ensuring the smooth running of the team for the rest of the tournament.
