Rajshahi Warriors became the first franchise to begin preparations for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League, holding their opening practice session on Saturday at the Mirpur Academy Ground.
The session took an unusual yet eye-catching turn as the players initially trained wearing Bangladesh national team practice kits instead of their franchise colours. The sight caused brief confusion among onlookers before it was clarified that the Rajshahi Warriors’ official kits had yet to arrive at the venue.
National players Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Akbar Ali were among those who took part in the session, going through fitness drills and net practice in the national kit. Once the franchise jerseys arrived midway through training, the players promptly changed and resumed practice without disruption.
Head coach Hannan Sarker, along with the team’s support staff, closely supervised the session, with a strong focus on fitness work alongside batting and bowling routines. As part of their warm-up and recovery, players were also seen playing football to loosen up.
