The excitement of Australia’s premier T20 tournament is set to return as the Big Bash League (BBL) gets underway on Sunday at the Optus Stadium in Perth. The opening match will see two heavyweight franchises, Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers, lock horns to mark the start of the new season.
A total of eight teams will compete in this year’s edition of the BBL, promising weeks of high-intensity cricket and thrilling contests. Reigning champions Hobart Hurricanes will begin their title defence against strong competition from the rest of the franchises, all eager to claim the coveted trophy.
The curtain-raiser between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers is scheduled to start at 2.15 pm Bangladesh time on Sunday.
The participating teams this season are:
Brisbane Heat, Adelaide Strikers, Melbourne Renegades, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder, Melbourne Stars, Sydney Sixers, and Hobart Hurricanes.
