The 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to begin on 26 December, and as in previous years, several prominent Pakistani cricketers will feature in the tournament.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Wednesday that it has issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to 10 players, allowing them to participate in the franchise league. As per the terms, the players have been cleared to play in the BPL until 23 January.
The most talked-about name on this year’s NOC list is Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Haider Ali. He was temporarily suspended by the PCB after he was accused in a rape case in Manchester last September. However, the Greater Manchester Police dismissed the case on 25 September due to lack of sufficient evidence.
With the PCB lifting his suspension, Haider Ali now faces no restrictions in taking part in the BPL. The league’s new franchise, Noakhali Express, signed him from the auction for USD 25,000.
Alongside Haider Ali, several other Pakistani players are set to feature in the tournament, including Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahibzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, Khawaja Nafay, and Mohammad Ihsanullah.
