Bangladesh’s dramatic series win in the three-match T20I contest against Ireland in Chattogram has brought positive changes in the latest ICC Men’s T20I rankings, with several players making impressive gains, reports the Daily Sun.
Left-handed middle-order batter Parvez Hossain Emon made the biggest jump among Bangladeshi batters. He climbed 21 places to reach 38th position after scoring 77 runs in the three matches. Towhid Hridoy, who batted in only two innings, also rose five places and now sits at 43rd, boosted by his career-best knock of 83 in the opening match, although it came in a losing cause.
New vice-captain Saif Hassan slipped nine places to 39th, while T20I skipper Litton Das dropped two places to 44th. Opener Tanzid Hasan, the Player of the Match in the final game, moved down one spot to 19th but remains the highest-ranked Bangladeshi batter in the format.
Among Bangladesh’s bowlers, Mustafizur Rahman moves up two places to claim 8th position. Shak Mahedi Hasan improved to 14th, while leg spinner Rishad Hossain climbed five places to 19th. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed also rose five spots, reaching 25th.
Among pacers, Tanzim Hasan Sakib moved up from 37th to 35th, while senior quick Taskin Ahmed experienced a setback, dropping 10 places to 52nd.
