Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim and all-rounder Mahmudullah have each secured teams for the 2026 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), after initially going unsold in the first auction.
The two experienced cricketers were originally placed in the ‘B’ category with a base price of Tk 35 lakh.
According to auction rules, they were supposed to be moved to the ‘C’ category—with a reduced base price of Tk 22 lakh—for re-auctioning.
However, this step was skipped out of “respect” for the senior players.
Rangpur Riders picked Mahmudullah for his original base price of Tk 35 lakh, while Rajshahi Warriors acquired Mushfiqur Rahim for the same amount.
Another seasoned player, Mominul Haque—also unsold in the first auction—was bought by Sylhet Titans for his base price of Tk 22 lakh.
