Bangladesh will kick off their ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign against hosts West Indies on the tournament’s opening day, 7 February, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, reports the Daily Sun.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the full schedule on Tuesday, confirming Bangladesh’s three other group-stage fixtures. The Tigers will face Italy on 9 February, before a marquee clash against England on 14 February - both at the same venue. Bangladesh will wrap up their group-stage matches in Mumbai, where they take on Nepal on 17 February.
Among the tournament’s major fixtures, the much-anticipated India–Pakistan encounter is scheduled for 15 February at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The tournament will use the same format as 2024 - 20 teams in four groups, ahead of a Super Eights phase, with the top two finishers from each group making it to the playoffs.
The first semifinal will be held on 4 March, either at Eden Gardens in Kolkata or the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo — depending on Pakistan’s qualification. The other semifinal will take place on 5 March at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The final is slated for 8 March, to be staged either at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad or the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The 20-team event, spanning 29 days, will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka across eight venues — five in India and three in Sri Lanka.
The host venues include Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad), MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Arun Jaitley Stadium (New Delhi), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), Eden Gardens (Kolkata), R.
