The people of some parts of the country are in great danger as a big part of the country has been inundated in rain water. Even, in the capital Dhaka residents fell in serious sufferings due to ceaseless rain and water-logging created of it. Meanwhile, the weather forecast says over 4-feet tall tidal waves might be occurred in coastal region and islands due to deep low-pressure.
Meteorologist Kho. Hafizur Rahman said, “The deep depression located in the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas is moving further northwards and crossing the West Bengal-Bangladesh coast near Sagardwip and Khepupara. It may move further northwards and cross the coast and then gradually weaken. Due to the influence of the depression, gusty and squally winds may blow over the North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh and seaports. Currently, due to the deep depression, the maximum continuous wind speed within 48 kilometers of the center is 50 kilometers per hour, which is increasing to 60 kilometers in the form of gusty or squally winds.”
Due to the deep depression, the sea is rough in the area near the center. In this situation, the seaports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to display local warning signal number three.
Meanwhile, due to the new moon and deep depression, the coastal districts of Chittagong, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur, Bhola, Hatia, Sandwip, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barisal, Pirojpur, Jhalakathi, Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira and their nearby islands and chars may be flooded by wind-driven waves of more than 2 to 4 feet. All fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay of Bengal have been asked to stay in safe shelters until further orders. News from our correspondent and representatives-
