Sooraj Barjatya returns to his signature family romantic saga, with Ayushmann Khurrana playing the lead role of the new age “Prem”in his upcoming film, according to Pinkvilla.
A source close to the project revealed that Ayushmann and Sooraj have already built a strong working relationship, with Ayushmann excited about the filmmaker’s vision for the movie. Sooraj chose Ayushmann for his family-friendly image and believes his innocence and charm make him the ideal choice to play the new-age Prem.The yet-to-be titled film is a love story against the backdrop of Indian culture and will go on floors in summer 2025.
While Ayushmann will headline the film, Sooraj is now looking to cast a top actress for the female lead role. Once the lead pair is finalized, the director plans to complete the ensemble cast, following his tradition of creating films with large, prominent casts.
Sooraj Barjatya is known for his blockbuster films like Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hai, Vivah, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
