Superstar Shakib Khan’s much-anticipated film Darad is set to release in Malaysia on December 6, with screenings scheduled across 18 cinemas in the country.
This marks another international release for the Dhallywood icon, following the tremendous success of his previous blockbusters Priyatama and Tufan, which received an overwhelming response from expatriate audiences in Malaysia.
Distributors have noted a growing demand for Shakib Khan’s films among expatriates in Malaysia, driven by the success of Priyatama and Tufan. Md. Russell, owner of JTG Enterprises, highlighted this trend during a press conference held at the Royal Ruposhi Restaurant in Kota Raya, Kuala Lumpur.
The premiere of Darad is scheduled for December 6, followed by its release in 18 theaters across Malaysia starting December 7.
The film will be screened in prominent locations, including KLCC, Time Square, Rawang, Kelang, Johor Bahru City Square, Ipoh, Penang BM, Penang City, Melaka, Muar, Seremban, Kuantan, Selayang, Shah Alam ICT, Kelang Bukit Raja, Subang Summit, Kota Tinggi, and Batu Pahat.
Darad has already garnered significant interest among Malaysian expatriates, fueled by widespread discussions in Bangladesh. The film will be showcased in state-of-the-art Malaysian cinemas equipped with high-definition sound engineering, Dolby Atmos, and advanced screen technology.
To cater to diverse audiences, the film includes Malaysian and English subtitles. The theaters also feature modern amenities, including air-conditioned systems, comfortable seating, and cutting-edge facilities to enhance the viewing experience.
SM Moazzem Hossain Nipu, director of Happy Trip Travel and Tours in Malaysia, shared his enthusiasm for the film's release, stating, "We have previously shown Shakib Khan's Priyatama and Tufan in Malaysia. Expatriates love Shakib Khan. That is why we expect Shakib fans in Malaysia to be present in full houses in the halls to watch the movie Darad."
Arnil Hasan Rabbi, Head of Marketing at JTG Enterprise, expressed optimism about the upcoming release of Darad, saying, "Earlier we released Tufan when there was political unrest in Bangladesh and the flood situation was bad, but this time, InshaAllah, everything is fine. Shakib Khan himself is also coming to Malaysia on December 8. All things considered, I hope that this time, our expatriate brothers and sisters in Malaysia will come to the cinema hall and enjoy it. I hope that I will be able to see all the Shakibians in the cinema hall again."
Shakib Khan will portray the character of Dulu in Darad. Based on the teaser, the film is initially believed to be a psycho-thriller. The movie features a star-studded cast, including Shakib Khan, Sonal, Payal Sarkar, Biswajit Chakraborty, Rajesh Sharma, and many others.
