Professor Dr Md Israfil of the University of Dhaka has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Thakurgaon University.
The Ministry of Education issued a notification in this regard on Thursday.
According to the notification, with the approval of the President and Chancellor, Dr Israfil, Professor of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at Dhaka University, has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Thakurgaon University under Section 10(1) of the Thakurgaon University Act, 2023.
It said his tenure as vice-chancellor will be four years from the date of joining or until the date of his retirement, whichever comes first.
Before assuming the post, he will receive salary and allowances equivalent to those of his substantive position. He will also enjoy other benefits related to the post in accordance with the rules. As the chief executive officer of the university, he will remain stationed full-time on the university campus. The President and Chancellor may cancel the appointment at any time if deemed necessary, added the notification.
