The hearing of the review petition filed by ATM Azharul Islam, former acting secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami, seeking a reconsideration of his death sentence in crimes against humanity case, commenced this morning (February 25).
The hearing took place before a five-member bench of the Appellate Division, led by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed, and was subsequently adjourned until tomorrow (February 26).
Barrister Ehsan Abdullah Siddique represented Jamaat leader Azhar, alongside senior lawyers S M Shahjahan, Shishir Manir, and Barrister Najib Momen.
