BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said, "My humble request to the interim government is that people should not die by being shot on the streets to hold an election. If you hold the elections on time, you will be covered in flower petals. Even, you will not be able to bear the weight of all the garlands we will put around your necks."
He said this while talking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of the 18th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Trinamool Party at the National Press Club on Sunday.
Gayeshwar Chandra Roy said, "We have brought you with honor, we want to send you off with honor,. So, you fulfill your responsibility. And if we are finally come out on the streets, think about how long you will last."
Gayeshwar said, "I hope the interim government will take the initiative to hold elections properly before our patience breaks. The election will decide who the people will give power to. The people are the owners of the country, the source of power."
“But if you think BNP will come to power and this government will have to be kept— that’s wrong. And, if they think they will not hold elections until there is a new part— this is bias.”
