BNP Chairperson's advisor Zainul Abedin Faruque has called for early announcement of a specific date for national elections according to the people's aspirations without paying heed to anyone's words.
He made this call to the interim government at a discussion meeting on 'Election Road Map and People's Aspirations' organized at the National Press Club on Friday morning.
Addressing India, Zainul Abedin Faruque said the people in Bangladesh are now very conscious. Looting in the name of support will not be accepted. He also marked government’s statement over fleeing of Obaidul Quader unbelievable as government had said they don’t know how Quader had been escaped.
Meanwhile, rejecting Badiul Alam Majumdar's statement on Awami League's participation in the upcoming elections, the speakers said that if anyone tries to rehabilitate Awami League, they will resist it with the people.
At the same time, he called for announcing a clear election roadmap in the interest of preserving the existence of Bangladesh.
