Eight officials, including the former police chief and the former director general of NTMC, are set to appear before the International Criminal Tribunal on Wednesday, facing charges of genocide and crimes against humanity related to events in July and August.

Arrest warrants were issued for 17 former police officers, who are accused of crimes against humanity and ordered to appear before the tribunal. Those arrested will be brought to the court.
The prosecution received 125 complaints regarding genocide and crimes against humanity committed between July 5 and August 5, during attempts to suppress the anti-discrimination student movement. Additional complaints are still being submitted to the tribunal's investigation agency.
The judicial proceedings of the tribunal began on October 17, with arrest warrants issued for 46 individuals, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, for alleged crimes against humanity.
