Rumeen Farhana, the central international affairs secretary of BNP, has stated, “BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has clearly said that the interim government is the government of the people, and this government must not be allowed to fail under any circumstances. However, if the government itself makes itself fail, then BNP cannot do anything about it.”
According to Rumeen Farhana, a democratic state remains safe in the hands of its elected representatives. It is the reason why BNP is requesting the government to hold a fair election and do all the necessary reforms.
She made these comments as the chief guest at a conference, exchanging with the newly elected leaders of the Employees Union at the Ashuganj Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited in Brahmanbaria on Saturday (November 9).
Rumeen Farhana believes that BNP can form a government with more than 250 seats in the parliament if people are allowed to vote and if the interim government can arrange a fair election.
She also announced that BNP would introduce young talents to the parliament.
“With new young leadership, we will resurrect our parliament. No corrupt, extortionist or money launderer will be allowed in this parliament. This will be a parliament for the people, and the voices of ordinary citizens will be heard,” said Rumeen.
She also criticized Sheikh Hasina, the recently ousted Prime Minister, and the way she is still conspiring against the nation.
“People have endured Sheikh Hasina’s oppression for over 14 years. When the people finally stood against her, she was forced to flee the country. Now, sitting in a neighboring country, she is conspiring to destabilize Bangladesh. But no matter how much she conspires, she will not succeed. The people of Bangladesh are very aware and will not make mistakes in choosing their leaders,” Rumeen Farhana added.
