Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin on Wednesday said the government is working with utmost importance to protect the Sundarbans.
Several projects have been taken to conserve the Sundarbans and its biodiversity and wildlife, including Bengal tigers, he said, reports BSS.
He was speaking at a monthly meeting organised in the ministry's meeting room to review the implementation progress of its annual development programme (ADP) for fiscal 2022-23.
Necessary initiatives, including purchasing patrol boats, will be taken to save the Sundarbans, he said the projects undertaken will play a significant role in Sundarbans and tiger conservation.
Shahab Uddin instructed the officials concerned to implement the projects properly.
He said a time-bound action plan should be adopted from the beginning of the financial year.
All concerned should strive to achieve cent percent progress of the projects within stipulated timeframe.
