The International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) has launched its flagship initiative, the ICCB Puran Dhaka Iftar Bazar, bringing the authentic taste of Old Dhaka’s foods to the city dwellers.
The ninth edition of the initiative attracted a huge crowd on Sunday, the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, with people from various areas of Dhaka coming to experience a diverse range of tastes from different eateries, including ICCB Heritage.
Classy individuals flocked to the bazaar to quench their thirst during iftar, choosing from a wide variety of traditional items at 20 stalls.
“There are various eateries here to provide an exceptional iftar experience to the visitors. All participants are maintaining the highest standard of hygiene. We have a separate team to monitor the quality of our food,” MM Jasim Uddin, chief operating officer at ICCB, told the Daily Sun.
This year, they are offering more than 50 iftar items, including mutton Kacchi Biryani, Whole Chicken Masallam, Mutton Leg Roast, Chicken Reshmi Kebab, Mutton Jali Kebab, Whole Chicken BBQ, Beef Garlic, Rosh Malai, Tiler Jilapi, Burhani, and Laban, all of which are special additions.
Different catering companies, including ICCB Heritage Restaurant, are participating in the bazaar, offering a wide range of food items at 20 stalls.
Since the first arrangement of the Puran Dhaka Iftar Bazar, people from different parts of the city have placed their trust in the quality and taste of the food offered at the stalls at ICCB.
Nazmul Hossain, a resident of Baridhara, came to ICCB with his family to taste Old Dhaka's iftar.
"There is no need to worry about hygiene here. The environment is beautiful, and I can bring my family, including children. I’ve bought Beef Tehari and Mutton Halim. If I like anything else, I will take it," he said.
A variety of items make it easier for customers to choose their favourite dishes, allowing them to taste different items throughout the month of Ramadan.
Besides, Jasim Uddin Catering, Roshui Ghor, Nazila's Kitchen and Catering, and E-Food gained momentum from the first day of Ramadan this year.
