Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps Quds Force Brigadier General Esmail Qaani has expressed that the Global Sumud Flotilla has succeeded in exposing the “false freedoms” promoted by Western governments while bringing the Palestinian cause back to the center of global attention, Al Mayadeen reported.
Qaani praised the flotilla’s efforts following the Israeli occupation’s assault on aid ships attempting to break the blockade on Gaza.
He stated that the flotilla “demolished the walls of falsified freedoms in Western civilization and exposed Zionist fascism,” adding that its actions helped reveal the reality of the occupation before international public opinion.
Qaani further said the flotilla accelerated the decline of the Israeli occupation by exposing its escalating crimes and massacres against Palestinians.
His remarks came amid mounting international criticism after Israeli occupation forces intercepted the flotilla in international waters and detained activists on board.
The controversy intensified following the release of footage showing Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir confronting detained activists after the raid. In the video, Ben-Gvir appeared waving the occupation flag in front of detainees who were restrained on the ground.
Several European countries reportedly condemned the treatment of the activists and the assault on the humanitarian convoy.
