Katsukokoiso.AI, a project by professional photographer Eugenio Marongiu, has harnessed OpenAI’s unreleased text-to-video model, Sora, to create a striking piece titled "Surreal Elderhood." The project aims to strike a balance between absurdity and realism, reflecting Marongiu's unique artistic vision.
Though earlier users of Sora have pointed out the model's challenges, such as its unpredictability in producing final products, artists like Marongiu continue to push the boundaries of creative experimentation. Marongiu, an alpha tester of Sora, expressed how the model helped speed up his typical image-based creation process, which traditionally involves creating static images and animating them later.
"With Sora, I’m finally able to fully embrace text-to-video generation," Marongiu shared, noting that the most time-consuming part of the process was still the conceptualization, testing, and editing. Despite the hurdles, the entire creation took about two days, showcasing the efficiency and potential of Sora for creators like Marongiu.
