Bangladesh, secured a historic win of 86 runs in D/L method, in their 1st match of ODI series against Australia, held in Mirpur of the capital on Tuesday evening.
It's Bangladesh's first ODI win over Australia after a long 21 years when they defeated the Aussies at England's Cardiff in 2005.
Australia were restriced to 191 runs for 9 before rain stopped the game at around 7pm. After the game was unable to be resume, Bangladesh was declared to be winner by 86 runs in Duckworth/Lewis method. Due to the excellent bowling performances of Nahid Rana and Mosaddek Hossain, who took 4 and 2 wickets for the hosts, Australia struggled in chasing the runs scored by the Bengal Tigers.
Cameron Green was the top scorer for the visitors, who scored unbeaten 51, while Alex Carry made 47.
Earlier, Batted first, Bangladesh scored 284 for 8, thanks to brilliant comeback of Masaddek Hossain, who made 86 runs off just 70 balls. Top order batter Najmul Hossain Shanto made 67 from 86 balls.
Nathan Ellis took 3 and Matt Renshaw took 2 wickets for the Aussies.
