Bangladesh’s emphatic World Test Championship (WTC) triumph over Pakistan has propelled several of their red-ball stars upward in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings.
The Tigers completed a commanding 2-0 series whitewash against Pakistan, a feat that lifted them to fifth place in the WTC standings.
Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim emerged as Bangladesh’s standout performer with the bat, amassing a series-high 259 runs across four innings. His consistency earned the experienced right-hander a 10-place jump to joint 16th in the ICC Test batting rankings.
Litton Kumar Das also enjoyed a remarkable rise after compiling 239 runs during the series. The stylish batter climbed 14 places to secure the 24th position among Test batters.
Bangladesh’s bowlers likewise reaped the rewards of their dominant performances against Pakistan.
Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam advanced two spots to 11th in the ICC Test bowling rankings, achieving a new career-best rating in the process. All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz moved up two places to 25th, while pacer Nahid Rana registered one of the biggest leaps, soaring 10 positions to 54th.
Taijul also made progress in the ICC Test all-rounder rankings, climbing three places to 29th.
