Thomas Dooley has been appointed as the new head coach of Bangladesh national football team. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) officially confirmed this information on Friday.
Dooley, who has dual citizenship of the United States and Germany, has been associated with football for 43 years as a player and coach. During his playing career, he participated in the 1994 World Cup for the United States national team and served as the team's captain in the 1998 World Cup. Later, he worked under Jurgen Klinsmann as the assistant coach of the United States national team from 2011 to 2014.
Thomas Dooley, who has reached the pinnacle of success since his playing career, has a rich career. This defender, who enlighten the field for the United States national team, played in the 1994 World Cup. Not only that, but this former captain also has the honor of leading the United States team in the 1998 World Cup.
In his international coaching career, Dooley was previously the coach of the Philippines national team. His Philippines team qualified for the main round of the Asian Cup unbeaten and reached their highest position in the FIFA rankings. Before taking charge of Bangladesh, he was the head coach of the Guyana national team, where the team won all four matches under him.
