Bangladesh U-19 cricket team ended its home series against Afghanistan on a high note, clinching a thrilling two-wicket victory in the final match to level the five-match youth ODI series 2-2 at the Shahid Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, reports the Daily Sun.
After winning the toss, Afghanistan opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 208 for 8 in 50 overs. The visitors’ middle order showed resilience, but Bangladesh’s bowlers kept things in control with disciplined spells to restrict the scoring rate.
In reply, Bangladesh’s chase got off to a shaky start, losing wickets at regular intervals. However, captain Azizul Hakim Tamim led from the front with a magnificent century, anchoring the innings under pressure and steering his side towards victory. His composed batting display proved decisive as Bangladesh reached the target in 45.5 overs, finishing on 211 for 8.
