The number of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) candidates under the Jashore Education Board has dropped to 135,089 this year, reflecting a decrease of 3,762 compared to last 2025.
Officials view it as a notable decline compared to previous years. The examinations are scheduled to begin on 21 April.
Across 10 districts in Khulna division, the exams will take place at 299 centres, where full preparations—such as CCTV coverage in each room, teacher’s appointment, appointment of inspectors and vigilance team—have already been ensured.
Of the total candidates, 66,928 are male and 68,161 are female. Additionally, 25,678 are irregular candidates, while 145 are appearing for GPA improvement.
Among the 10 districts, Jashore has the highest number of candidates with 22,088 students. Others include: Khulna: 21,428, Kushtia: 19,749, Jhenaidah: 16,349, Satkhira: 14,247, Bagerhat: 11,926, Chuadanga: 8,962, Magura: 8,076, Narail: 6,064 and 6,200 in Meherpur.
The SSC examinations will be conducted under strict supervision. Section 144 will be imposed around examination centres, and an enhanced monitoring system will be put in place.
A coordination meeting has already been held with centre secretaries in the presence of the Education Minister, where necessary guidelines were provided. A detailed policy guideline has also been distributed to ensure smooth exam management. Weekly CCTV footage from each center will be submitted to the board for monitoring.
Professor Dr Abdul Matin, Controller of Examinations, said that all necessary preparations have been completed to ensure a fair and smooth examination process.
The Board Chairman Professor Dr Mosammat Asma Begum believe that with strict monitoring and the use of technology, this year’s SSC exams will be conducted in a fair, transparent, and cheating-free environment.
