Bangladesh Railways has completed preparations for advance tickets and passenger transport on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Advance ticket sales for intercity trains on Eid will start from March 14 and will continue until March 20.
During this time, passengers will get tickets for March 24 to 30.
Secretary of the Ministry of Railways Md. Fahimul Islam said this on Thursday.
Earlier, a preparatory meeting was held on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr at the Railway Bhaban on Tuesday afternoon under the chairmanship of the director general of Bangladesh Railways.
Director general of Bangladesh Railways Md. Afzal Hossain told the media, “A total of 5 pairs of Eid special trains will run on the occasion of Eid. And the Eid journey will start from March 24. Special trains may be run on several routes on Eid. However, the number of special trains that will run has not been finalized yet. The routes will be finalized according to passenger demand. This time, 35,315 advance tickets will be sold from Dhaka every day around the Eid journey.”
He also said, "We are making all kinds of preparations focused on Eid. There will be another meeting chaired by the advisor at the Railways Ministry on March 9. Details will be announced there."
