Expatriate Bangladeshis have sent $73.66 crore in remittances during the first 11 days of January, the first month of the new calendar.
The daily average remittances to the country are $6.69 crore.
According to the latest data received from the Bangladesh Bank on Saturday, Bangladesh received over $73 crore 66 lakh 10 thousand or Tk 839 crore remittances in 11 days of January.
Of this, remittances through state-owned banks come to $20 crore 19 lakh 30 thousand, specialised banks accounted for $2 crore 48 lakh 50 thousand, while private banks received $50 crore 73 lakh 50 thousand and foreign banks received $25.10 lakh.
Meanwhile, in December last year, expatriates sent $263.87 crore, which is the ever highest in the country’s history.
