On Friday, the Japanese Government updated its travel advisory for Bangladesh, lowering the threat level from 2 to 1.
The level-2 alert, issued in December, had advised Japanese citizens to refrain from non-essential travel to Bangladesh. This measure was prompted by the July-August Uprising and the subsequent deterioration of public order in the country.
However, as the internal security situation in Bangladesh continues to improve, Japan has revised its warning, reflecting the progress in restoring stability.
Japan employs a four-level alert system to advise its citizens about potential risks when traveling abroad. In this system, level-4 indicates the highest risk, level-2 recommends against unnecessary travel, and level-1 advises caution.
