Train derails in B'Baria, up line services halted

A container train derailed in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday at around 11:30 am.

Due to the accident, train services on the up line towards Dhaka have been halted.

Confirming the incident, Md. Jashim Uddin, station master of Brahmanbaria, told that the Dhaka-bound container train No. 601 crossed the station at 11:15 am. The train derailed after reaching the Baroharan area.

However, the exact number of containers that fell off the track was not immediately known.

Train services on the up line remain suspended for the time being.
