The interim government has introduced a system that enables individuals to pay their income tax from their homes, eliminating the need to visit banks or tax offices.
In a video message on Monday, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the interim government, announced this initiative.
He stated, “The taxes you pay are the main driving force of the country’s economy. Therefore, we have introduced a system that allows you to submit your income tax returns from home without any hassle.”
All officials and employees in Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur, along with all scheduled banks, mobile phone operators, and several multinational companies, are mandated to pay their income tax online.
Additionally, individuals in other parts of the country are encouraged to submit their income tax online.
A system of national awards will be established based on the online income tax contributions of individuals and institutions. He called for district-level competitions to promote participation.
The Chief Adviser also encouraged young people to assist taxpayers in submitting their income tax online.
