The Thailand government has decided to provide e-visa services for Bangladeshi ordinary passport holders traveling to Thailand, reports Dhaka Tribune.
This facility is expected to be available to Bangladeshi travelers in the early of the next year.
During a meeting On Thursday, the Bangladeshi ambassador to Thailand, the Director-General of the Consular Department of the Thai Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Worawoot Pongprapapant, announced this development.
A press release from the embassy said that once the e-visa is launched, Bangladeshi ordinary passport holders will be able to obtain their visa online from the comfort of their homes.
This facility has already been initiated by Thailand through 69 of its embassies.
The Director-General advised Bangladeshi passport holders interested in seeking medical treatment in Thailand to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) while obtaining their visas from Dhaka.
This visa, along with the caretaker's visa, will be valid for five years and each visit will be valid for six months.
