The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza has described the situation at the facility as an "extreme catastrophe" after Israeli forces targeted the building while it was treating children and elderly patients suffering from malnutrition. The hospital, located in one of Gaza’s most heavily affected areas, is struggling to provide care as the region faces ongoing violence.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking from Gaza, declared that Hamas would no longer govern the enclave and announced a $5 million reward for the return of Israeli captives held by Hamas in the territory.
In southern Lebanon, Israeli forces killed three Lebanese soldiers in recent clashes. Meanwhile, the United Nations' peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that four Ghanaian peacekeepers were injured by a rocket, likely fired by "non-state actors."
The conflict in Gaza has led to significant casualties. According to recent reports, at least 43,972 Palestinians have been killed, and 104,008 have been wounded since the violence erupted on October 7, 2023. On that day, Hamas-led attacks killed an estimated 1,139 Israelis, and over 200 individuals were taken captive. In Lebanon, the death toll from Israeli airstrikes has reached at least 3,544, with 15,036 others injured.
The escalating toll and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Lebanon continue to draw international concern and condemnation.
