Donald Trump has met with Arab American supporters in the city of Dearborn, Michigan, hearing that they are “envisioning a time where peace flourishes, particularly in Lebanon and Palestine” under a Trump administration, reports Al Jazeera.
“This current administration has failed miserably in all aspects of humanity,” said Albert Abbas, a resident of the US’s largest Arab-majority city, as he stood with the Republican presidential candidate on Friday.
Abbas said he “can’t stand in silence while Palestine is being erased” and asked Trump to “please help us stop the bloodshed”.
Trump – who previously told Benjamin Netanyahu to “do what you have to do” in his war on Gaza and criticised President Joe Biden for “trying to hold back” the Israeli prime minister – told his supporters, “We have to get this whole thing over with”.
“We want to have a peace. We want to have peace on earth, all over, all over. And these are wonderful people, and I very much appreciate it,” Trump said.
