A 38-year-old man was stabbed to death by hijackers on the Savar New Market area highway early Tuesday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Md Asaduzzaman, son of Abu Bakar Siddique of Taraganj in Rangpur.
Savar Model Police Station Sub-inspector Mahbub Ullah Sarkar confirmed the matter.
According to police and locals, Saiful, a policeman of Gulshan Police Station in Dhaka, saw the body of the man lying on the highway during he was going to home from work. Later, he informed Savar Model Police Station.
Police later recovered the body and took it to the police station.
Legal proceedings are underway over the matter, and a case will be filled with the police station, said the SI.
