As in the field of short videos YouTube are far behind Tiktok, it has planned to show advertising in its ‘Shorts’ feature.
YouTube had launched Shorts feature to provide short videos with space to expand its multidimensional capacity. Now, it thinks the facility of showing advertising in it will increase the income of the users.
Although Tiktok is banned in few countries, its number of users and popularity are absolutely overwhelming. To compete with Tiktok, many video sites planned to add features in their site. YouTube’s also thinking the same way.
YouTube aimed to increase the revenue of content creators. It’s going to launch the feature very soon. To enjoy the facility, the account needs to have a minimum view of 4,000 hours per year and at least 1,000 subscribers.
Besides, if the creators get 10 million views within 90 days, they’ll be eligible for the programme. However, initially, the creators will get only 50% of the revenue, while the rest will go to YouTube.
YouTube also announced to add ‘Water Mark’ on ‘Shorts.’ Many YouTube users share their shorts to Tiktok, which ultimately benefit Tiktok. Hence, watermarks (logo, message or sign of YouTube) will be added when anyone downloads the short.
