The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has earned more than 1cr taka from ticket sales during the ongoing Australia tour of Bangladesh, with one match still to be played.
Quoting an official who wished not to be mentioned, Daily Sun reported this update on Saturday.
“So far it’s over 1 crore from three One Day International series and two T20 International series,” said the unnamed official. “It’s the highest in the last seven months,” he added.
This makes the series the board's highest ticket-revenue earner so far this year, reflecting strong fan turnout for the contest between the two sides.
The figure is expected to rise further once the final match of the series concludes, with ticket sales for the remaining fixture still ongoing.
BCB officials see the strong response as a positive sign for the board's revenue prospects, especially as it looks to attract more spectators to home series throughout the year.
