Parvez Hossain Emon has admitted that Bangladesh are feeling the absence of regular captain Litton Das in the T20 format, as the team searches for stability in the batting order, reports Daily Sun.
Litton is currently sidelined due to a muscle tear, with stand-in captain Towhid Hridoy leading the side in the ongoing series against Australia.
However, Bangladesh have visibly struggled to convert promising starts into match-winning totals without their experienced wicketkeeper-batter at the top.
“Dada (Litton) plays that role very well. So actually we are missing him a lot,” Emon said at the post-match press conference after Bangladesh’s seven-run defeat in the second T20 in Chattogram on Friday.
Emon also stepped in to take wicketkeeping duties in Litton’s absence and said he is always ready to fulfil the responsibility whenever required by the team.
“I am always prepared to do wicket-keeping. At any time, for the team’s needs, we may have to do this. It is going well, Alhamdulillah,” he added.
