Zinedine Zidane is one of the most recognizable figures in world football. Not only because of his legendary spell with Real Madrid and his World Cup triumph as a player, but also for his successful career as a manager.
This World Cup, however, the spotlight turned to his son, Lucas Zidane, who plays for Granada in Spain’s second division and serves as goalkeeper for Algeria’s national team.
During Algeria’s clash against Argentina, Zidane was left stunned as Lionel Messi scored a hat trick against his son. Zizou’s reaction said it all. His usually composed expression gave way to pure disbelief at what he was witnessing on the pitch.
It was undoubtedly a difficult outing for the Algerian goalkeeper, and Zidane’s face made that clear for everyone watching.
