A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official said on Wednesday (Jan 8) that it is not mandatory to send selectors with the national team in every tour.
Quite a few eyebrows were raised as BCB did not include any member of the selection panel in the upcoming women’s tour to West Indies.
It was assumed that the chief selector Sazzad Ahmed would accompany the national women’s team when they travel to West Indies to play three ODIs and as many T20Is considering selectors had travelled with the national team when they went abroad.
“It is not mandatory to send selectors all the time,” BCB women wing’s chairman Nazmul Abedin said when his attention was drawn regarding the matter.
However, a BCB director traveled to different countries after joining the board following the departure of former BCB boss Nazmul Hasan.
