Netherland defeated Namibia by 5 wickets in first round Group A match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup held at Victoria in Australia.
Winning the toss, Namibia opted to bat first. But, they began to lose wickets in regular interval and didn’t able to accelerate the wheel of run as well.
They could score just 121 for 6 thanks to the innings of Jan Frylinck, who scored 43 of 48 balls.
Netherland’s Bas de Leede took 2 wickets for 18.
In reply, unlike Nambia’s innings, Netherland got a good start as their openers and one-down batter got timely scores. Openers Vikramjit Singh scored 39 from 31 balls, and Max O’Dowd scored 35 from 35, while Bas de Leede got 30 from 30.
Namibia’s JJ Smit took 2 wickets for 24.
Bas de Leede has been judged Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
With this win Netherland got closed to super 12 as they also won their first match.
