The advisory council of the interim government is set to approve a proposal to observe 5 August as a national day from this year, reports The Daily Sun.
The secretary committee for administrative development of the Cabinet Division has already approved the decision, and sent it to the advisory council for final approval.
Liberation War Affairs Adviser Faruk-E-Azam told reporters that proposals for forming a dedicated July-Mass Uprising Directorate and for declaring 5 August as the “July Mass Uprising Day” have been sent to the Cabinet Division for final approval.
There is another mass uprising day in Bangladesh. The 24th of January is observed as the Mass Upsurge Day, marking the historic uprising against Pakistani autocratic rule in 1969.
